California’s Zone Zero rules are coming, and without an approved safe spray option, they’re going to attack property values across our region. Until now there has never been a proactive fire retardant safe enough to spray around our homes — but that changed when CitroTech arrived.
We’re asking everyone who lives in or loves these communities to sign the Zone Zero Spray Option Petition in favor of one simple principle: any fire retardant used in proactive spray service around homes and communities should be required to pass the EPA Safer Choice Products testing regime. If a chemistry doesn’t have it, that should concern you — because the most likely reason is hidden chemicals in the SDS under “trade secret.”
Why “trade secret” is a problem. Studies have raised serious questions about the environmental and health impacts of undisclosed additives in traditional fire retardants. As long as those ingredients stay hidden, neither homeowners nor regulators can fully evaluate the risk.
