The American Award Winning Breakthrough Innovation CitroTech is the only EPA Safer Choice Product can be used now in Tahoe to reduce the risk on the roadways during wildfire event. San Diego used a nearly $367,000 state grant to buy about 4,000 gallons of Citrotech. Officials estimate that around half has so far been sprayed on more than 40 fire-prone acres along roadways, including at least six places where homeless people have been known to camp.

Ok so since Lake Tahoe and San Diego both have extremely high road related wildfire risks why can’t Tahoe get grants? Tahoe represents a higher “trapped in traffic” risk due to its limited evacuation routes and dense forests.

Mayor Todd Gloria and San Fire Rescue Fire Marshal Tony Tosca with the wonderful

Support from the San Diego River Conservancy Board all worked hard to get these Proactive Grants to spray CitroTech. The San Diego River Conservancy’s mission is accomplished by conserving land, and protecting or providing recreational opportunities, open space, wildlife species and habitat, wetlands, water quality, natural flood conveyance, historical, cultural, and tribal resources, and educational opportunities.

Why not Tahoe now before this 2026 wildfire season gets underway.
